I have mild psoriasis on my back, had it for 10 years and my doctor thinks the best medicine is continual steroid creams.

I’m sure there must be another way and want to have a food allergy test (as far as I know I suffer no allergies) as many psoriasis sufferers claim diet can control the condition.

Looking on the internet, tests range from £10 to £250.

Has anybody got any recommendations for a genuine test that is worthwhile? So much going on I feel I could easily be scammed or not get correct results.

Thanks in advance.

Can’t help you with the allergy test but I suggest you look up topical steroid withdrawal.

Doctors haven’t got a clue and keep prescribing steroids creams, all they do is mask the problem and have long term side effects.

Have a look at MG217 products for Psoriasis.

Also, try add 2 cups of Dead Sea salts to a warm bath and sit in for 20 mins or so.

I wouldn't recommend them. It's a gamble on whether or not they'll work. Most don't as it's incredibly difficult to accurately test for allergies (food/drink anyway).

It would probably be better, albeit fairly long winded, to try and cut different things out yourself and see if you notice any change.

Unfortunately, with food and drink anyway, there's no straight forward testing. Can't comment on other things like soaps etc.

I had one of these done:

They test for about 200 odd food groups. My results came back with a mild reaction to both egg yolk and also yeast. Everything else was clear and ok

Bumping this thread to avoid starting another one, as I’m thinking of taking one of these tests.

Nothing sinister has occurred but I have noticed that certain foods that I haven’t eaten for a while are affecting me in ways that I don’t recall happening in the past.

Has anyone any updated advice or experience?

Be good to know myself actually as I got the GP to do bloods and things all came back clear to which I'm not so sure on.

I went to an immunologist in Birmingham through my private health cover, but you could go direct. It was about £500, IIRC.

He found nowt, and I still have the same issue, which we decided was probably caused by my Covid booster. :tinfoilhat: smile
