It doesn't just happen at home.

I'm over in Frankfurt for a few days showing Johnny Foreigner how to run an investment bank and the traffic has been terrible.

Am currently overlooking one of the autobahns which has been at a complete standstill for over an hour and all the local guy's I am working with moan about their commuting just as much as we do.

Let's hear it for the good old fashioned English traffic jam, now a major export.......

When I lived in Frankfurt I thought traffic wise it was fantastic.
The only time cars ever stoped moving was at lights.
Most of the roads are one way and I cant remember being in traffic more than 3/4 times in two years

Went to Königstein (NW of Frankfurt) from Sachsenhausen (south of Frankfurt) on wednesday afternoon, just to pick a car up. Took me 3h for 40kms (w/return)
I normally do one way in 25min in the morning. Bloody commuters.

'Downtown' it seems ok, but the main roads on the outskirts and the Autobahns are all snagged up, seems to be a lot of accidents and roadworks which appear to have no control.

Considering the population is only 600,000 it should be better

Problem is, the suburbs have a population of some millions, which commute to their workplaces.
