Driving through the roadworks on the M1 south of Leicester on Friday evening.

Fixed signage indicates 40mph averageing cameras.
But the overhead matrix was flashing 50mph.

Obviously stuck with 40mph, but misleading nontheless.
I wonder what a barrister would make of it in court.

Did you spot the NSL sign, followed a few hundred yards later by a 40

Everyone was braking in the fast lane down to about 30... Safety my arse.

Don't forget the flashing speed signs on the overhead gantries are advisory - so stick with the 40 limited signs!

That's my point

What would a barrister make of someone "advising" drivers to do 50mph in a camera controlled 40mph zone.

Drove through these southbound yesterday, I have got to ask do Royal Mail truckers know something I dont when it comes to the 40mph SPECS?

Doing bang on 40mph on the digi speedo and had a bloody RM 40 tonner sat so close to my arse I could see the cooling fans spinning on the rad through the gaps in his bumper. Showed him some brake lights which resulted in lots of horn blowing and light flashing, so back up to 40mph and got more of the same.

He then decided to overtake me, alas in his blind rage he forgot to check his mirrors and very nearly drove into the side of another 40 tonner that was sat alongside him.

I took great delight in waving good bye to him when we got back to NSL.

What a complete and utter barsteward!!

Just goes to show what a major contribution to safety this way of enforcing speed limits is in roadworks. No good having 'He kept to the speed limit' on the Epitaph!

Cameras don't catch these louts!
