Hi folks,

Well at last at the weekend I finally had chance to wash and polish my absolute pride and joy, and here she is (I hope the download time is ok)...

Let me introduce you to my Lotus Elise Type 23

One of only 50 ever produced!

Comes with a superb fitted colour coded hard top and green soft top.

I had all the wheels off this weekend to get to the inner bodywork and clean all the alloys from behind. The seats also came out and all the floors etc were inspected and cleaned along with the seats and interior....bling!!

Fitted with a factory Lotus sports stainless steel exhaust (no other mods).

She's in for her service today...The guy says "She's like new"...phew!!

After some research I realised she hadn't got her number. I phoned Lotus and a very nice lady indeed sent me her number... 22 of 50.

Absolutely mint even in the engine department!
potenzas fitted all round!

She's not 1000% mint but very close and I can assure you she soon will be!!

Well, that's it. I hope you all like her. I have to say I'm a very lucky chap and don't I know it...lol

Thanks for looking.

Regards,

Mac

Very nice, nearly bought one myself not so long ago but got a Type 25 in the end. I notice the for sale sign in the background of the 1st pic - If thats how the Lotus is being funded you've made the right decision!

Absolute fantastic work on the cleaning too, my kinda guy

Just a shame to have to take that hard top off, really...!

Only ever seen one of these, and that was from a distance.

Before the pics I would have said my favourite LTD edition was the Type 79. Black and gold.

But this does look fantastic.

Well done, good choice. Andrew.

You weren't driving south on the M1 at about 7.20am today? In the roadworks near junction 21?

Saw a Type 23 in the outside lane as i was going north.

Looks great, enjoy,

Rich

Thanks Guys!

Very proud of her myself. Takes hours to clean as you know, but it's all worth it.

Sorry, no I wasn't on the M1 today Rux.

Mac

Lovely car. Did you ever find out what happened to the original limited edition plate, or are Lotus going to supply a new one? It would be such a shame not to have it.

Hi Wendy,

The origial number was never claimed so the car never had it's it's number plaque...so it was nice for me to be the first to claim it.

Apparently when the numbers were issued (or made) not all of the cars were sold at that point and Lotus didn't want customers buying the cars out of sequence. So when cars was purchased the Lotus garages (supplying the cars new) were supposed to contact Lotus for the number plaque, but some were never claimed this being one of them...Lotus can check the number of the car via the chassis number. This number plaque was just never ordered.

I like to think it kind of finishes the car ad gives it a bit more identity.

Mac

Make sure you keep all the documentation around that Mac - it makes a nice little story to go with the car's history. Always good to have provenance with something like yours.

Car looks awesome, well done. Where abouts in Notts are you? I'll keep an eye out for you on the A52.
