Peugeot 308 SW 2009 (59 reg) 1.6 VTi S
Discussion
I’m looking to buy a workhorse for work. Preferably an Estate. I’ve never owned a French car before so I can’t comment on them. I don’t do that many miles, around 4-5k a year so I thought Petrol would be best.
This is the car:

I’ve asked the seller some questions. They have said the car comes with 3 keys, All paperwork, it was last serviced at 36,000 in 2017. MOT was done in April this year.
Any help or advice on this model would be fantastic.

40k without a service would be a bit of a concern. Although that's not to say the car hasn't been serviced during this time, just that there's no proof.
Considering the price, it's not too much of a gamble. Have a good poke around, check the oil, filters and general condition of the car. See how it runs from cold.
I have a 15 year old petrol 207. Its not a great car, but it starts every time and gets me to my work without issue. I've had it for over 3 years now, and done over 20k in it.
The car you linked to failed it's last MOT on emissions and there's also a mention of an oil leak. Check both of these issues out. A minor oil leak is not the end of the world on these. Mine has had one since i've owned it.

As I mentioned in the other 308 1.6 VTi thread the other day, those 1.6 Prince engines that these use don’t have the greatest reliability.
I remember it being mentioned. I had my Mini for 4 years with over 95k on and it’s still going strong. I sold it two years ago for a bigger car. I am struggling to find a Petrol that is an estate that is local. I don’t fancy driving hours for a cheap car. Gassing Station | Car Buying | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
