Building credit score, clarification
Discussion
Trying to help partner build her credit score as most of her adult life was outside of UK.
Obviously electoral register done, got a bank account sorted (had to go with a pay for one as she has nothing).
I have a quick question with regards to direct debits and utility payments. The bills are in my name, so would transferring the actual payments over to her account actually be beneficial, or would it need the actual utility account transferring to her as well?
For example water bill, broadband etc., it's easy enough to put the direct debit in her name, but will that have the right impact on her credit score, or should we be trying to actually transfer the accounts in to her name?

In my experience one of the the best ways to build a credit score is by getting a "credit builder" credit card (e.g. Aqua).
These come with a low credit limit, usually £500 or less. Spend a little on it, but pay off the balance every month. The payment record is then seen by the credit agencies.

Appreciate the suggestion, we'll be doing something along these lines as well I expect These come with a low credit limit, usually £500 or less. Spend a little on it, but pay off the balance every month. The payment record is then seen by the credit agencies.
