Hey everyone. The front bushes have worn out on my daily 2012 Hyundai i10 so looking to replace both front wishbones.

Which of these manufacturers are half decent and recommended? Its only my run-around car (keep my pride and joy Porsche 997 C4S for weekends), so don't need the absolute best, but would like to stick with a half decent manufacturer.

The part is available from these manufacturers:
APEC
BGA
BORG & BECK
COMLINE
DELPHI
FAI AutoParts
FIRST LINE
MOOG
MOTAQUIP
NAPA

I was thinking either Delphi and MOOG, but not sure if I should look at any of the other aftermarket manufacturers in that list too?

Really appreciate it thanks!

I would have no problem using any of the names listed TBH. They are all well established in the aftermarket.

Also, some are brands owned by the same parent company eg. First Line/Borg and Beck/FAI.

PS. Out of all of them them the only brand I hadn't used was NAPA, but that changed recently with a couple of rear tie-bars for my XF. They fitted perfectly and adjusted with no problem and looked well made with a decent amount of weld between the bar and the ball-joint. Certainly as good as the OEM that came off.

Best buying original, most on the list are utter crap to be honest with a couple of possible exceptions, sick of doing warranty work on suspension arms from the after market

Considering car manufacturers can have up to half a dozen suppliers for the same part and don't make them themselves, 'original' generally means they came in a different branded package with a markup.

Several names on that list are OEM.

I am aware of that, just because they are OEM does not mean they are made to the same spec, if you are in the trade you should know well that is the case.

To even mention NAPA as a viable part to fit is madness, we won't have them in the shop now with the dissolving rubber in the bushes and failing sockets.

Don't bother with Comline. I've replaced lower arms twice in 12k miles due to worn out ball joints. The 2nd pair were replaced under warranty but these wore out just the same..

If they do Lemforder for your car I'd buy them.

Agreed, they are about the best you can get, FAI for VAG as they really are genuine, they usually come with the Audi rings ground off!

Non of the others are worth fitting these days sadly

I just had a Borg and Beck brake disc new out of the box that didn't run true, had awful brake wobble. So I'll be avoiding them in the future.

Can't you just replace the bushes on the original arms?

+1 I refreshed my front suspension on the merc with Febi via Autodoc to save about £150 on the job.. 10k miles later I had to replace it all for Lemforder due to squeaking (also ball joints were already shot, pic below) been great since.

Be aware that not all pattern parts use a correct, er, pattern.

Thanks for all the replies. Ended up ordering the Delphi ones off ebay (would have ordered MOOG as they're a bit cheaper from AutoDoc their delivery in a few weeks was a bit too slow as I need them asap).

Unfortunately Lemforder only make the separate ball joint and bushes. But I'm going to ask the mechanic to return the worn out OEM wishbones back to me, and next time if they need replacing I'll just order the Lemforder replacements and get them pressed into the OEM wishbones!

I've always wondered what the tolerance is on parts like that... Looks like one is maybe 5mm longer than the other? Even if it was within manufacturer spec that's going to change the geometry significantly.

For that reason I've never replaced suspension/steering components without getting alignment done after, but I know many who will replace TREs and just count the turns or use a paint marker on the thread.
