Long time since I have been to Le Mans as I moved to the US over a decade ago! However, the old man is going to the Classic next month. They are staying in Le Lude about 30 miles south of Le Mans. Any locals (or anyone else) that could recommend a decent restaurant?

I told him to go to: https://www.restaurant-du-dauphin.com/ in La Ferte Bernard
And also the kart track that is on the way: https://www.racingkartdumans.com/

They were recommended to me back in the day by this forum and were both excellent. But they are East of Le Mans and a bit out the way for this trip. Hoping for similarly good recommendations!

Been a few years ....
Renaissance Hotel Le Lude, Gourmet rated so small portions
https://www.logishotels.com/fr/hotel/logis-hotel-l...

A couple of times here...
Hostellerie du Maine, decent enough, centre of town

The Rose and Crown in Le Lude has changed hands recently, not eaten there yet

Domaine de la Courbe on road to Luche Pringe not eaten but a few Brits stayed there at the last Classic

In Le Lude there’s La Renaissance restaurant that’s about the best around here.
There’s Domaine de la courbe just outside Le Lude.
My favourite is Porte du Roche at Luche Pringe eat outside on the river bank.
I’m 6 k outside of Le Lude, where is he staying? I understand if you don’t want to give details
Hope he enjoys his stay

Many thanks all. Great recommendations!

Leyorkie, not actually sure which hotel they are at. I’ll pass on this thread and it will give them some good options.

Not been for a while, but friends said it was still going strong, but a distinct lack of mushy peas I was told.

The new owner has big plans, he also bought the two properties next door with plans for a micro brewery and to expand the restaurant, possibly upstairs. Last time I was in it was a simple menu not as complete as before but I think they were testing the market.
They have the enthusiasm and plans for the future and they had the good sense to keep Lulu behind the bar.

Sorry to hijack.

I’m staying in La Flèche for the upcoming LM Classic. Any recommendations for a decent meal in, around or en route to La Flèche?

Based in Le Flèche Fri/Sat also and have my eye on eating here. Used to be Michelin star, but still looks higher end. The setting looks lovely.

Though any other recommendations welcome.

Auberge de Matfeux at Arnage if you want nearer the circuit. A wine list that will amaze you.

Auberge Port du Roche near Luche Pringe close to La Fleche.
Some decent restaurants but nothing special in La Fleche other than “Moulins” as suggested
