Optimax or BP Ultimate?

I have noticed a significant improvement in overall performance and general running of the engine with BP Ultimate as opposed to Optimax. At first I thought it was my imagination but I went back to Optimax then back to BP Ultimate and there really is a difference.

I was wondering if any other Cerbera owners have noticed this or the other way around? I have a 4.5 btw.

I get more pops & bangs too, which is nice. :D

Yes I have noticed a difference in performance too.
I shall use BP Ultimate in future.

Ok, to help the voices in your head, I have tried the BP stuff and the cerb fairly hated it. Loadsa drivetrain shunt and coughing but plenty of pops n bangs. I find the Total super unleaded works well as well as Optimax..

Just got back from Germany where she has been running better than ever, with louder pops and bangs on Shell V Power 100 Octane at just 95p per litre. Covered 1000mls in 8 days and she only used 250ml of Mobil 1 too. Had a bit of trouble coaxing her back to UK with it's distinct lack of Autobahns, the trip back from Harwich was positively boring and congested. Anyway she shone when it counted and that'll do for me. I Love Her.

My car doesn't dislike Ultimate but I'm sure she prefers more octane.

I always use either Optimax or the 99Ron Super from my local Tesco garage.

It is indicated just above my fuel cap on my 4.5 Cerb that 95 Octane fuel is only to be used. Am I missing out on not using a higher octane fuel?

My Cerb is a '98 - 4.5 and my sticker says 98 Octane Super Unleaded only!

I thought V Power was 95 RON - is it different stuff in Germany?

I think V Power 100 ron is a relatively new product at the pumps in Germany.

Don't know if it's already been posted (too lazy to read whole thread), but I was filling the "normal" car up at Tescos yesterday & noticed their Super Unleaded is marked up as 99Ron !

Will be filling the Cerb up there on Friday evening, and will report back !
