murdering out - would you?
Discussion
I'll admit, I did once 'murder out' a car... but I got it for free as a non-runner and I painted all the trim and lights black and tinted the windows and lowered it as well. But it was for comedy reasons, not because I thought it was 'cool' or whatever.

It would be so much better if it hadn't been what I consider ruined.

That's Mick Jagger's old car isn't it? The order form was simply:
"I see an E-Class and I want it painted black.
The windows wheels and trim, just make the whole thing black..."
I was going to ask if the owner is a goth, but then I remembered even Marilyn Manson's Lincoln Continental hasn't got blacked out trim.

That is utterly gruesome. Look at the state of this Merc: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/225019687013

I'm not a fan of black wheels at the best of times, but when the OEM's were originally silver, 1,000 times no.
Same goes for the chrome trim. Painting it black just removes all the character and detailing. Just no.
Black on black on black is a bit unimaginative in my view. Painting/wrapping everything black just makes it look like a drug dealer jelly mold, which weirdly some people aspire to.
However, black when kept clean and with an appropriate amount of chrome or brightwork can be a very classy thing, IMO. I just don’t understand the attraction to “black packs” from manufacturers where everything ends up being blacked out; it just makes it look like a base spec car where you get plain black plastic instead of any form of brightwork.

You’re right, it looks absolutely terrible. There’s a chap up the road from me done similar to a new Range Rover Sport SVR. He’s a middle aged white bloke who wears a suit to work. It’s tragic.
I wonder if I saw the same car the other day, just waiting at the lights for the parkway junction of the M1 in Sheffield.Every bit of it was black, not a fan.
Here's another one. Newer model but it's been for sale for ages and probably will stay on the market a while longer: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/374095369951
