Do dogs smile?

Our dog , in the last few months , taken to sleeping on her back , she must be very comfortable ,and I can assure this is not a set up, she appears to smile

Yes, I looked it up on google once, and a vet had answered when dogs are happy they relax their jaw muscles so their mouth goes floppy which gives them the appearance of smiling.

He used to smile a lot when he was younger, now older, grumpy and a little arthritic

I have looked through my photos and there are very few where they are smiling.

I wonder if in doggy language it could be confused with a threatening motion like drawing the lips back.

However, here is a pic one one we fostered with a big smile on his face.
