Fired mine up for the first time
Multi 12
Used the ooni firelighters and the premium lumpwood charcoal.

Struggled to get the temperature above 150c on the base when it’s suppose to be be close to 500c.

So the base of dough didn’t cook very well.

Any tips?

No, no one at all has an Ooni pizza oven on this forum, and you’re possibly the first person on earth ever to own one.

Please let us know how you get on with it.

I've had one for a few months and find it excellent.

I use the wood pellets and never had an issue getting it to 4-500 so sorry I can't be a great help. I did follow the youtube instructions.

Thanks. Do you use the wood pellets by ooni? I’ve seen some at Lakeland easier to get hold of.

Do you fire it up and close the front and back lid and put more in as you continue to cook?

Chimney open, door closed, plug off the chimney. It’ll easily hit 400 degrees with enough wood in the tray

I have there Karu 12 and whilst I could get it to 400 degrees with charcoal/wood, it was inconsistent and the temp would soon fall & rise as the fuel burnt and I added more so I had fairly long waits in-between cooking pizzas, and sometimes I couldn't get it above 350 degs. I then bought the gas burner attachment and the high temperatures are now much easier to achieve and are more consistent

Got a Karu. I've had it ripping along on a mix of hardwood and lump wood charcoal. Moved over to using the gas burner now instead though - easier and more consistent.

I've got a Karu here as well. Found that charcoal alone would get it up to the low 400s but needed a chunk or two of wood to get it higher. Also have the gas burner which works well but find it takes longer to cook the pizza, with charcoal\wood it was done in about 90secs but with gas it's near double that.
