Chim oil change - how much?

Just taken my Chim 400 in to tvrbodyshop.co.uk for a service and bought my own Mobil 1 15w50 as they only use 0w40. I bought 5 litres (4+1) from Halfwits.

They reckon it's not enough and they normal buy 7? I thought the capacity was 5 litres? Anyone know the correct amount needed for a change?

4+1 is only enough to put the oil level at the bottom marker on my dipstick. 6 litres would put it somewhere near the upper marker, so 7 litres to be on the safe side sounds sensible.

Personally, I just buy 2 x 4 litres and save the remainder for topping-up.

Thanks for the help guys. I just thought that 7 was OTT and I'd just be paying and extra 30 quid for nothing. I'm by no means a mechanic, but hate getting ripped off.

At least 7ltrs. Depends a little on the size of the oil filter.

I used 8Ltrs last service and about 7.5Ltrs this time.
I use'd a coopers filter which takes a good 1Ltr.

I was told 7 litres when I took my own oil last time. In truth they probably used a little more than that, but not a huge amount.
