For the last couple of years, I’ve been using bottled water for my coffee machine (profitec 700) as we live in an area with a lot of limescale.

Getting a water softener fitted next week and just wondering if anyone uses softener water in coffee machines as I can plumb mine in.

Not sure if this will knacker anything or wreck the taste. anyone had a similar quandary

I've just used a filter jug for my b2c whos descale reminder light has been flashing about 6 years (London water).

Seems fine.

You can’t drink softened water I think ?

If you are that worried, then it’s an RO unit plus remineralisation stuff…..

You're not supposed to drink softened water. The fitter usually leaves a tap unsoftened for drinking water.

There is nothing wrong with drinking softened water and your coffee machine will be fine. Ran one in last house for ten years with no issue.
Unsoftened water probably tastes better though.
