Advertised Cat D/N Car - Damage Report?
Discussion
Hi All. Not sure if this has been discussed in the past. Just browsing through the ads and found a car that was deemed beyond economical repair about 8 years ago. It appears to have been repaired and has been used regularly since.
Is there a way to determine what was damaged on a vehicle that has been deemed a Cat D/N, from an insurance company?
There seems to be plenty of ways to discover 'if' a vehicle was given a category, but I can't seem to see if you can find out what damage was discovered and therefore what would need repairing to make it 'roadworthy' again.

If I was repairing a categorised car, I would take photos of the 'before' damage, and put them in a file with receipts for all the parts purchased for the repair, and photos of the finished car. In fact I have done that in the past.
There are salvage checks you can do, if the car was sold for salvage through someone like Copart, they can find the photos for you...

Not as far as I'm aware.Find someone who's worked in a bodyshop to take along with you.
And on your road test hit the brakes at 70mph to find out if it's bent.
