Autoglym Lifeshine
Discussion
Picked up 20x Autoglym Lifeshine sets (each set containing 1x Carbon Shield, 1x Glass Guard and 1x Interior stuff) for £50
Gave the family Bussat a good clean - no claying, decon, detarring etc needed as it's washed and ceramic topped weekly). Then read all the bull about FOR PROFESSIONAL USE ONLY. The Carbon Shield was so easy to apply with the sponge applicator - the instructions are "wipe in straight lines, buff immediately afterwards. If you make a mistake apply more Carbon Shield to absorb and reset it." So easy how can this be professional use only? It took 45 leisurely minutes to cover and polish the whole car, door and boot shuts, alloys and lots left over for the engine bay panels. I think even after a big car like the Passat , there was still 1/3 of the tiny bottle left. I even dismantled the Thule roofbars and gave everything a wipe down with Carbon Shield!
The car looks fab, and feels fab - looks and feels wet look glossy when you run your finger over it. Then did the windows with Glass Guard - wipe on, sprinkling of water to help with buffing off. The interior rubbish I didn't use.
Very good if you can get some off FaceBook. Certainly a positive is that it doesn't attract any dust and hours later the car is "clean". The Turtle Wax Ceramic Spray I normally use attracts dust very quickly afterwards.
So worth £399 from a dealer (with a £65 car care bag)? FRO!

The money that all detailers charge for a 'proper job' is the time it takes to take defects out of the paint before it is ceramic coated, the ceramic coat you apply after all that effort is a smaller percentage of the cost so no point scrimping. in my opinion, there is no point in coating unless its been paint corrected
A few days on and I'm impressed. It's a silver car and harder to see megagloss than a dark colour, but the car definitely has a warm deep ultra clean glow/gloss. If anything the only negative is that being ultra clean and glossy, the couple of supermarket door dings are more pronounced!
Additional benefits over ceramic are that it seems to repel dust very well - minimal dust on the body panels and glass. The windscreen was not treated as Autoglym don't recommend it, so I left it and it is very dusty/manky. Someone mentioned on another forum at the lack of water marks and I can confirm that this is the case. With 19.33 bottles left, I'm going to cover the rest of the family fleet.
