Everyone loves dissecting a video, fact. But when is it okay to publish a video that the police have indicated they are taking positive action over? Just wait 6 month, perhaps (plenty of time if it's a letter or fpn, but probably not enough if it goes to court)? 12 months?
Beyond the initial 'no action' or 'we're taking positive action' response I'm not sure if my local force will give any further feedback.

It will be absolutely fine to publish it now. I assume you're talking about some kind of dashcam vid showing bad driving. So it will be a video of something that happened in public that will be shown in a public court should the case get that far. Unless it's akin to the video showing the death of George Floyd or you've actually been served with an injunction preventing you publishing it then nobody is going to care about it and you won't get in any legal trouble.
If it's going to court, it may be longer than 12 months.
I was witness to a big accident back in Decmeber 2020, and it has only just been through court, and that was with the driver pleading guilty to multiple offences. I suspect it would have been even longer had the driver pleaded not guilty.
