I need a new one. Does anyone know if these can be obtained from Maplins or RS components? The £45 from TVR seems rather steep.

Sorry E3D, but that wont work....

The one for sale on RS has normally open contacts (no).
The one in your Cerbera door has normally closed contacts (nc), exactly like an old plunger type switch you see on lesser cars. In their normal position, ie. with the door open, the contacts are closed making the circuit complete.

If you fit the RS one, your door will think its closed when its open and visa-versa.

I know all this because........... I've bought one, and done it and took it apart again.

Sorry

Bud

OK The part number is PTC 130/30.
This gives you the option of NC or NO, you just need to discard one of the contacts.

From RS £6.40.

If you take the switch out you will see that it only has a couple of connectors.

I just kept putting the window up and down everytime i opened the door.

Guys, I want to put this on Part Number thread.

So just to confirm I have read this correctly:

The part number is PTC 130/30 (is that original part number?)

RS stock number is 455-3744

This gives you the contact options of NC or NO, cerbera needs NC so discard NO.

Yep that works fine, fastest job i've ever done on the beast.
Top tip use blue tac over half of magnet then close door, shows just how much adjustment you have with out bashing hell out of magnet and switch.

Nice one, there is a PDF download that gives you all the specs on the RS website.
