It was mentioned on TV that Boris Johnson will go on to make millions in publishing deals and after dinner speaches, question who wants to listen to a failed ex polotician or read his books?

I have never known anyone to buy a copy of a poloticians memoirs or they never admitted to doing so.

In any case of Johnson you wouldn't know if it is his memoirs or a work of fiction

I’ve worked with a few, they make a lot more money after they leave the job than before.

All those billions of cv19 contract given away, I'm sure he squirrelled away some backhanders.

I think he will end up in jail.

Many people do buy the books.

I have read some of them.

I'm not sure that Johnson's stock is going to worth as much as people think. He might get after-dinner speeches at which he can do his well-worn bumbling waffle act, but I wouldn't have thought that there would be queues to have him at economic fora or giving lecture tours to impart his wisdom -he is not exactly in the league of Thatcher, Blair, Churchill, Clinton, Obama, Mandela...or even Theresa May.

His resignation speech may go down in history. For being completely tone-deaf.

I bought Alan Clarke’s memoirs – genuine funny read
Macmillan’s are in a different league, his experience of the WW1 trenches is rather humbling for those of us sat in the comfort of the 21st century, and many more had it worse. At least he came home in the same physical condition he went in.

It's an interesting one. With Johnson's previous comments about Muslims and gays and corporations focus on diversity and inclusion, I wonder if he will be as popular as past leaders.

Probably, that all goes out the window when money is involved.

He will be able to open doors others can’t.

To be fair, other than Churchill, Boris has probably been involved in more significant events in the last 100 years of history than any other PM. I'm not particularly interested in politics and I really dislike the guy but even so, I'd be interested in getting his first hand account of what went on.

I heard during a news night interview Tony Blair said that no one should ask for a pay rise to help the country, the follow up question should have been "by what % are you putting the rents up on your massive property portfolio".

You can guarantee that won't be taking a pay cut.

I'd pay more for Blair than Johnson.

Alan Clarke's are indeed a great read.

Maybe I'm just getting increasingly cynical as I get older but the past few years has really hit home at how far removed politicians are from the working majority and the extent to which they are feathering their own nests at our expense.

Theresa May earns £5m a year form the after dinner speech and events attending circuit. I'm sure Johnson will be more popular than that, because when you're a pathological liar, you can make up any old amusing st for your speeches.

Frankly I don't care. Just so long as he's nowhere near the levers of power.

In what way? MP's pay is pretty poor for what they are doing. What they earn outside of parliament isn't at your expense.
