My wife asked me why at full charge this morning her car is showing 24 miles range, when it normally shows in the region of 37/38 miles.

Car is a 2021 Cupra Leon 245 PHEV.

Obviously when driving a proper ICE car, when you fill up the range shown is dictated by how economically you have been driving. Is it the same with an EV/Hybrid? It isn't cold this morning, so unsure what other factor there would be.

100% the same as predictions based on MPG. The wife’s Passat GTE will usually show 24-25 miles of range after she’s driven it. Then I’ll take it on a run to work and need to eek out as much EV range as possible (to make it there and back without ICE), and a full charge will show 28-30 miles.

Thanks, that's what I thought. Not that it ever manages the stated range anyway rofl

The thing about the stated range, be it PHEV or pure EV is that of course, like ICE, the range is very dependant on driving style. This may sound obvious but judging by colleagues at my work they seam to forget drag is a square law and you will never get the max range e.g if at motor way speeds. Conversely, my commute is all at 30 limits and if I'm careful I CAN get the 30 or so miles range from my PHEV.
