'........in society' on the end of a sentence adding nothing whatever to the meaning. As opposed to what?

'I was just minding my own business when.....' Means the disaster I'm about to describe was not remotely my fault, nothing at all I could have done could possibly anticipated it or avoided it. Might be true, but why is it necessary to stress it in advance?

'What you have to remember is.............' Means this is blindingly obvious to me but for some reason I assume you need to have it explained.

Any others?

"Lessons have been learned".

In other words, a lack of common sense or failure to listen to those with experience.

Good one. Usually said by people who weren't listening, or followed by "but..."

“If you think about it…”

Implies that they have. Conspiracy theory level bks inbound.

“I’m not an expert but…”

Short circuits discussion based on facts.

“…real people…”

Implies that if you don’t agree you are sufficiently privileged not to be affected. Short circuits discussion by invalidating opposing views.

Politicians who start an answer to something with

"Look let's be clear"

Usually mean they just disregarded what was said to them and change the subject.
