Does anyone know if it's a convention that any historic aircraft on it way to/from a show does a circuit or two of Bletchley Park?

I ask because I work in the local Tesco and recently I've seen a couple of Spitfires, the Red Arrows and, today, a Hurricane.

TIA.

The Red Arrows will (or used to) do fly-bys on request if the location is close to their route, they did one at one of my old school's reunion at Newbury race course one year.

Similarly the BBMF will do the same at local events e.g. Armed Forces Day, 17 June - 2 July this year.

Event organisers can request a flypast from the RAF so they’ll try and accommodate a reasonable number based on where they are doing full displays, the event, any good cause, the audience etc. There’s no guarantees, but I’d expect Bletchley will have a higher success rate than most.

Many thanks both. It's amazing how many people don't even look up.

I'm the opposite, if I hear an interesting aero engine I dash outside; most recently was a BBMF Hurricane.

Ironically, on the flipside, in the garden infront of the house at Bletchley Park they have hidden speakers which play sound effects of Spitfires flying over and it's amazing how many people look up and search the sky for ages looking for the aircraft laugh

I've been caught out by that too!
