Doesn't seem unreasonable at all, for a complex specialist car like a DB9. I would have expected to be charged rather more. I paid £650 for an E-Type inspection and that was ten years ago.

Do you think that you will find an expert who will do it for less?

Plus, if you are having an inspection, it makes sense to get it done by an official dealer. What they will do is give you a list of things, maybe with prices, to get in into correct condition.

fair enough, I had a maserati GTS which used to be serviced at ferrari and seem to remember on the invoice the health check being £185 then crossed out as its free when you get a service. I was just gauging from that but if its more Its more I guess.

A health check done at service is a long way short of an inspection.
It's largely a check of fluid levels and consumables like tyres and pads etc.
A full inspection woukd or should include things like removing all covers and plates, checking for hidden corrosion all electrics etc etc so in essence a much more thorough examination and also some sort of conclusion as to what's a real issue needing attention and what is noted and can be dealt with later.
I too don't think the price quoted to be unreasonable when you consider the time involved and expertise required.

Hi,

I think I paid £300 (plus travel mileage to where the car was located) 9yrs ago. So that fig seems reasonable.

Just make sure that it is a thorough inspection, including everything that would be needed to bring it to a condition where they would retail it. Make sure they are not just charging you for a cursory review of things you can check yourself. It needs to be up on a ramp and receive a thorough going over from an eagle eyed obsessive.

I'd get it done at an Indy if at all possible.
