Temps Could top 40 Degrees!!!!

Pleeeeeease anyone that has any elderly relatives or knows anyone vulnerable to keep an eye on them and make sure they have plenty of water etc in the fridge.


They have been forecasting temps of 35+ early next week.

Yeah London is going to be the worst i reckon and so plenty of old & vulnerables there still!

I'm not far off pensioner age and I'm loving the heat.

Don't old people get cold easily, I know I do.

It was only May when it was so cold and miserable in the flat that I was going to bed early but now I can sit on the settee in a T shirt and shorts and binge on Star Trek Strange New Worlds, Obi Wan and The Boys until past midnight.

Dreading work tomorrow and the absolutely frigid AC. I have to remember to take a thick hoodie and gloves. I kid you not.

Exactly they love the heat our 87 year old relative came round yesterday 25+ jumper had been replaced by a tank top! He still brought his light coat

That could be used to fill up the water bottles when empty.

Years ago car handbooks told you how to adjust the tappets these days they tell you not to drink the battery fluid, has common sense dissapeared so we now have to broadcast on tv to tell people to keep hydrated when we have a proper summer?

I can remember it being headline news years ago that it was going to be 37c / 100f. All about the beaches and pubs.

Now it's written in crayons that the sun is hot and you should put your kids in the shade.

The press keeps trying and sadly succeeds in causing panic.

Every year we are told that the snows will bury the cities, it doesn't happen.

It was bad in 1963, the snow didn't melt for 3 months but I believe people just got on with it. It didn't affect me but then I was only 1.

I remember '76, that very hot summer. It was fun.

OK, I'm sitting watching the telly in my pants but more importantly I'm not cold. I loath the winter, the dark afternoons, burning money trying to warm the lounge, pitch black at 7am.

I love the sun and light waking me at 5am and that I can go for a walk at 930pm with the sky still lit.

It'll be back to grey, cold and rain in a week or so. Shame I currently have to work.

Dunno, the recent drop in the punchiness of covid and the mild winter has meant the stock of LPs and second hand books in my local charity shops has been pretty dire this last six months. Could do with something like this to get the good stuff rolling in again.
