Whirring noise when turning the steering wheel. VXR8

Anyone have experience of this?

Sounds like a supercharger (sadly not) and gets loud when I turn the wheel left or right.

Also seems worse the hotter the outside temp.

Steering is fine but I've been told it's probably the pump as fluid is topped.

Any ideas anyone?

I'd assume it's the pump as well personally.

try changing the fluid first , a less hard work option , suck out what’s in the reservoir with a syringe , then re fill , engine on use the pump a few times , re do this three or so times and you would have replaced most of the fluid , see if things improve , possibly caused by an air leak so check pipe work , old fluid (as above ) or failing pump , then probably Rock Auto
