Missing tracked parcel

Partner ordered some sunglasses online value of £120, sent via Royal Mail tracked by the company. Apparently they delivered it a couple of days ago, signed for by CV ?
We were out at the time, no one was in the house and none of the neighbours have the parcel. It’s not in a safe place but we didn’t ask them to leave it in a safe place anyway. Where do we go from here and the likely outcome ?
We have cctv of the postie coming at 1.10 pm and leaving about 25 seconds later. Parcel was signed for at 1.04 so don’t quite follow that one. No card through the door and no email from the company saying it was arriving or had arrived. The only reason we know is that we rang to find out where the item was.

I've seen most if not all of the parcels we send via Royal Mail signed as "CV" or some variant of that. "CV" will stand for Coronavirus/COVID, i.e. that they didn't ask the customer for a signature. I can't remember the last time I was asked for a signature either.
Doesn't really help you, but that's the situation with Royal Mail (and pretty much every courier) and signatures.

Hi, pop down to your local royal mail office with the tracking number (check the opening times online) and the manager will do a gps search.

If so try listening back to a few minutes before and after he arrived incase you can hear anything odd. Did the postie come in a van? If so can you see the number plate, if so it may help if you need to give extra information, I’d presume they know who uses what van on any given day? Have you got any addresses similar to yours near you where it could have ended up (or other post has finished up there before)?
Makes me wonder if the postie has swiped it and if that’s the case you may not be the only one they’ve done it to. Or if could be a mistake. I’d be curious to know if the package mysteriously arrives (with the packaging damaged) if you mention you have CCTV.

If you live on a development with similar street names e.g. Pistonheads Road, Pistonheads Drive, Pistonheads Ave etc, try asking the same house number as yours on the other roads. We have this problem whenever the usual posties and couriers who know the area are on holiday.
Good call but nope, the roads are named after trees and bushes, blueberry close, cranberry close, mulberry close etcWhen you enter the tracking number into the website, does it it show a map and pointer to where it was supposedly delivered to? For some reason sometimes it shows a map and other times just gives an area name and no map.
Being timed so close to the postman actually being there, have you tried houses slightly further away, or as someone else mentioned, same house number on adjoining roads.

Good luck with Royal Mail, I wish there was another service we could use as they managed to lose my licence and medical form to upgrade my licence to add my class C entitlement. How they can lose a tracked and signed for letter that was posted from a postoffice when even their own tracking doesn't service does not work, they are a joke and I bet if you could find the % of lost mail it would be massive.
