I have spotted this a few times when choosing a shorter route on my walk, I obviously won't say where it is but I will say it is in a relatively touristy part of Scotland. I think it is a Honda NSX, but not up on my old Japanese supercars. What does the PH collective think?

Not sure... I can see why you thought NSX but the roofline down to the rear looks wrong.

The state of the alloy makes me think more of dodgy kit car. If it turned out to be an F40 looky-likey I wouldn't be shocked.

Wheels are alloys and look later than a Stang

Shot in the dark! smile

I was looking at Japanese coupes from the 90s and couldn’t find one that looked right, i am making the assumption (incorrectly I’d guess) thats its a standard-ish car.

the rear drop from spoiler to floor had me thinking TR40 - but the the read glassdeck isn't right. 300ZX would be a decent shout

OP - could you be a tad cheeky & either take a pic from the front or be a tad bold & go knock on the front door & then tease us some more with clues?! smile

The alloy wheel looks very similar to those on the Lotus Esprit GT3.

Yes, I'm almost certain it's an early X180 shape Esprit, possibly with a later rear spoiler. You can see from the way the cover sits on the rear window that it appears to have the 3/4 length rear window of the early X180s. The spoiler looks like a later-type bridge spoiler from a V8.

Have you tried streetview and checking if it appears on other timed passes without a cover?

Esprit.

The shape of the rear spoiler and the design of the rear apron around the exhaust pipe reminds me of this version...

How are we going to know if we are correct! You’re going to have to lift the cover and take a picture for us now!
