Looking for a good 4.5 !

Dear All,
Please tell me that somebody out there has been told by their doctor / wife / accountant to get rid of their Red / Black 2000/01 Cerbera, even though it's in wonderful condition, in order to pay £25000 to undergo a triple by-pass / book another holiday / pay the HMIT arrears for 1999.
I have been looking for 9 months and have been messed around with strange histories, magically changed registration docs and old nails until I'm about to give up.
Please save my faith and sanity......

Have you tried James Agger Autosport ?

He often has cars inbound that are not even on his site, that's how I got mine,
gave him a spec and he found it!

Would also suggest trying Fernhurst or Adrian Blyth!!

I've noticed that 2001 onwards 4.5's are VERY RARE. Best of luck, hope you find one.

Also check with Riverside Sports Cars he has a 4.5 RR 2003 in black wirh grey and black leather interior.

I know it's overbudget but he is a good guy and gets Cerbs in regularly. He uses Peninsula for all work on the Cerbs so sensible quality as well. He may well get one in arround your budget - find one to order..

by following your name link I have found The TCR and attemped to become a contributor but I have a problem.
I've registered successfully and the accompanying acceptance mail says:

However when I try to do so, I receive the message :

“Your message was not delivered because it was sent to an announcement-only group, where only the moderator may post.”

Am I stupid ???

Got made redundant yesterday..... more time in the Cerb for a while but then.... who knows!.

It's a 2001 LW 4.5 5,300 miles in wonderful condition.... Reflex Purple (faster than blue/black/yellow!)... hehe

If I were to sell it (not decided yet), it would be just under 30k

Well, thanks to all those who gave me advice and offered up their own chariots but I'm happy to say that I bit the bullet and 'invested' in a 2001 4.5.
Picked her up on Saturday and drove back to Lux on Sunday.
Utter respect to the Belgian Cops who let me off 160mph along the E42 !
Hey, why didn't the factory fit a shock absorber to the petrol guage needle ?
... and where's the rheostat for the instrument binacle lights ? Can't read a bloody thing !

People on here have gone to prison for a lot less....

Without wishing to preach. do take it a little easy at first, the cars do bite and even experienced
owners can get caught out as was sadly highlighted recently.

Hi G,
found the car at David Gerald TVR, Inkberrow. Actually went there to see two 'blue' ones. By the time I had arrived, one had been sold. The other was in fantastic condition with a very low mileage but was 'rolex blue' which, as I'm sure all you experienced TVR cognescenti know is, in fact, purple !
After talking to Doug and John for a while they showed me a customer's car which was in for a front, stone-chip-damage respray and that was it - lurve at first sight !
Thanks for your concern but it had taken me 500 miles of slowly getting to know my baby before I was travelling. I was just amazed at how the car became more settled on the road as I passed through each level of speed bandwith. I have prviously had an inbuilt mental/reaction limit of 145 which I have never been able to surpass either on bike or in car but the Cerb felt so stable, comfortable and unstressed that I felt as safe as a . I'm totally stunned !
BTW Nobody has ever mentioned on PH what a fantastic sensual experience it is washing one of these puppys !
Thanks also for the warning about pre-booking. I will go to the TCR website and sort that out this week.
It's absolutely throwing it down here ATM so Black Beauty sits, patiently in her carpeted garage awaiting the sun and fun.
Oh, BTW she-who-has-allowed-all-this-to-take-place is only 5 foot. Have I read somewhere that you can buy an after-market kit to bring the footbox closer to the seat - or was I just dreaming ?

There is indeed.

I have only recently been back in contact with the traders as many said the could not
commit back at the start of the year.

Talking to many right now, so I expect the list to increase rapidly in the next week
or two, but visit either site, C.R.E.A.M under 'Specialists' or The Cerbera Register under 'Trade'.

As I say, this list is going to grow rapidly now.

Totally unrelated (almost) but once you've scratched your immaculate 18" spiders do you have to throw them away or can they be polished and re-coated ?

And one final enquiry of stupidity: Is there a way to search the whole of 'Gassing' to find references to a particular subject ? (like an internal sarch engine).

Dear All,
I’m a bit stuck.
Bought the Cerb (2001 –with ‘small lights’ pods) two weeks ago. Brought it over to Lux and have to prepare it for their version of the MOT.
Front, dipped, headlights require resetting.
Gained access through the wheelarch panel and found that the bulb housing can be rotated to the required degree.
Problem is, the housing is retained to the light body housing by three Phillips-head screws. Managed to get the visible one free but the other two are up the proverbial monkey’s-arse !
Anyone have any suggestions as to ‘special tools’ or pod removal ?
The only alternative I can think of is sawing a larger access hole in the wheel arch – Ouch !
