Z06 vs Vantage
Discussion
Ref. price difference.
Having watched videos of the latest developments in car factories, the very extensive and increasing use of robot assembly is remarkable.
On some Mercedes-Benz assembly lines, the dashboard is carefully moved into the cars and then bolted into position entirely by robots. Not a human in sight.
The initial setup must obviously be expensive, but presumably huge cost savings are eventually achieved.
If Aston Martin built the Corvette, they could not sell it for the Chevrolet price and the cost gulf between hand built and robot built, must be widening.
I don't want a Corvette, but enjoyed watching them scrap with Aston Martins at Le Mans.

It read to me as if they hadnt driven the corvette - so a fantasy review?
I don't think anyone has driven the full production version of the Z06 yet. It's going to have 670 hp though and is very much aimed at being the "track" Corvette. So not really a direct competitor for the Vantage.Gassing Station | Aston Martin | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
