Hi all, having a smoking issue with my e61 525d. When you floor it you get a excessive amount of black smoke, the car has had a EGR/DPF delete so I expect a bit of smoke but it’s currently putting it out like a steam train leaving clouds of black smoke.
Also has a EML light with “increased emissions”

There is no smoke on idle and if you drive like a granny there’s no smoke either. I’m going to be scanning it soon but just seeing if there is any common problems with these?

Black smoke is usually fuelling, you will probably find it’s related to the lack of dpf too. I can never understand the fascination with removing them when you see what they actually collect and stop entering the atmosphere

Overfuelling or it could be a boost leak

More than likely a boost leak from a split intercooler hose causing overfueling. It's normally the intercooler to EGR hose that splits, right in the bend at the top. A few full throttle blips whilst looking at everything should find it.
The split can be temporarily fixed by binding it in duct tape but a new hose from Ebay isn't much.

It could of course be something else, but this would be my first port of call.

I agree and if it was upto to me I’d have one on there, the guy before me had the car remapped and was told it was better to delete the dpf

Spot on mate, split in the pipe and the join has a lot of play so ordered a new one/seal. New to diesel bmw’s so the help is much appreciated!
