The onslaught of EV's continues apace!

Yeah, it's a something-UV and it's electric so not quite in the PH wheelhouse based on those attributes but the intriguing thing is that it'll be offered in front wheel drive, rear wheel drive and all-wheel drive variants! Could it be another for that list of vehicles offered with such an array of options for pushing torque from drivetrain to ground? I don't think there has been any EV with that either.

Looks great on the outside. Inside looks very fussy, but, bring it on! They could sell that here in the UK I reckon.

Interesting that they will offer:

FWD
FWD with eAWD (so I assume some rear motor assistance at low speed, low grip but not full time or full power AWD)
RWD instead of FWD (on the RS) again with eAWD
full fat AWD system

But I wonder if underneath, they just ship the 2LT, RS and SS with the same motors?

Now that would be pushing the boundaries of the pay-for-activation model. Imagine if they all had two motors, same spec in the AWD, RWD and AWD and they just enabled them through software! I could imagine BMW getting to that point in about two years. Extra weight, extra friction. But it's okay as they're EV!

Almost identical to the Cadillac Lyriq.

I wonder if it's just another re-badge and they are both the same underneath?

What GM is good at doing though is being efficient in building out platforms and brands - so are the other big OEM's. GM does a good job of being modular but with exceptions - and I would imagine that its probably not pay for activation though. Its not something they do at the moment and historically they have leant heavily on the dealer network for much of the customization etc. GM builds it, dealers customize it for the customers. How that works in the fully connected world though? Who knows.

What I can see though is that underlying platform seems to be the make or break for them though. That battery skateboard is common across so much so it better work! But GM does the "same underpinnings, different body" stuff very well.

That is all kinds of hideous. I love it!
