Hello All,

Looking for a new-ish replacement for my 15' Octavia vRS TDi. Switching to petrol now I do fewer miles.

Ideally, 2019 onwards, petrol, auto, 4dr/5dr and no more than £25k.

I'm looking at a Mk7.5 Golf GTi 245 tomorrow but I'm not sure what else I could be considering. Any thoughts?

Thanks,

clockworks

M140i BMW.

I bought a 2019 M140i Shadowline last month, £23k. Approved used from main dealer, so a decent 12 month warranty.

3 litre 6 cylinder, 340bhp, 0 to 60 in 4.6 seconds, and will easily do 40 mpg on a run with a bit of restraint.

I loved my Golf GTI and would buy another without any hesitation.

Any of the VAG stable do the daily job brilliantly. Seat Leon Cupra is pretty great value for money and an alternative. Also have the Golf R and VRS.

Also the BMW is good with a very different character. M240i would be my choice as I felt it drove slightly better and the m140i is already quite small inside.

Left field choice how about the Alfa Romeo Giulia Veloce

The Golf GTI is great, I'm sure you'll like it.

What about another Skoda? Here's an Octavia 2.0 TSI vRS

Another VW group option is the Seat Leon Cupra 290

Thanks for all the replies.

I've narrowed my search down to just a handful of cars because like my Skoda, I wanted a main dealer car with main dealer history.

If I don't buy the Golf GTi tomorrow, I've found a M140i to view on Friday.

Congrats Lee!

What colour and options you go for?

Honestly the longer you have it the more you’ll come to like it then it reaches the point you struggle to think what to replace it with.

Thanks!

2019 Golf GTi Performance with DSG in metallic grey with 18" wheels. I don't know all the options vs what comes standard but does have full leather and the clocks are digital screen.

Looking forward to collecting next week and getting to know it more. It is a VW Approved Used which I wanted for the warranty and service plan included.
