Insurance discount for good behaviour?
Discussion
Our buildings and contents insurance has always been about £150 for the last five years at least, the last three years with the same company. We had a small claim this year for a damaged shed and stolen bike, probably £1100 in total, which was dealt with efficiently after we provided the necessary evidence.
Renewal this year has come in at £110 with free home emergency cover! Checking the meerkat shows comparable insurance quotes still around £150, so has our insurer essentially given us a discount because they know we're reliable customers and aren't about to put in spurious/overinflated claims, similar to how it's better to have maintained a good credit record rather than be an unknown risk that has never taken out credit at all?
Has anyone else ever had this from their insurer?
Not that I'm complaining.

A renewal reduction ( sizeable ) post a claim that wiped out all of your premiums since you first insured with them - yup you’ve done well there !
If they did that for all their “ loyal “ customers they’d be out of business.
If you haven’t already I’d be accepting those renewal terms quickly just in case they have made an error.
