not sure if we've had this one before (probably - in fact I'll have probably commented on it!!) but... what would be the perfect only car? The 'rules':

- for the foreseeable future petrol will be available (as is currently the case)
- only car you can ever use (no taxis or borrowing/hiring vehicles)
- if your lifestyle changes you still have to make do with the car (max 2 kids for simplicity otherwise it'd end up being a Chevy Suburban)

VW Transporter Kombi T32 LWB 4Motion

Mine would be unique because I would NOT put 20" Audi wheels, a garland, a "T6 xxx" niumber plate, or ridiculous chrome side-steps anywhere near it.

Current shape Mercedes E43AMG Estate.
Looks like a normal estate Mercedes, 400bhp, 4 wheel drive, plenty of space

Hard to argue against that.

Will work in all weathers and most terrains. Takes the whole family and the dog. Will tow a small building.

A motorbike would have to take care of the thrills.

Mk1 Citroen Picasso.

Seats 5, large boot and handy shopping trolley. Removable rear seats for mega load capacity

Essentially a xsara/306 so handles well. Ride is reasonable, logically laid out cabin

Tailgate is high enough to act as a roof to shelter from the rain.

Build a removable boot jump and it'd be a reasonable abode for a night or two.

What about the need for a hire car when it breaks down? Or do LR dealerships give long term loaners?

Panamera Turbo S or Turbo SE Hybrid, - Sport Turismo for me,

Or an Alpina B5 Touring, in dark metallic green, with gold decals would do nicely!
