Hi All,

My diamond cut wheels are looking worse for wear at the moment (shock horror). I really like the finish so will probably get them done again.

Does anyone have any recommendations in the North Yorks area, Harrogate / York way.

I've had a bad experience with one wheel specialist in York whom I won't name.

Thanks

I did away with the diamond cut finish and went with a two tone / dual powdered finish … looks mint and will last longer.

These are the guys that did it near Harrogate.

I have used Direct Finish Ltd in York and they did an excellent job.

Located on a small trading estate in Nether Poppleton, just off the ring road.

Tim at Jorvik Engineering has done wheels on my Porsche, one of my Ferraris, 3 sets (road, track dry and track wet) on my Exige, three of my classics, my wife's Merc and my Merc SUV as well as on 4-5 cars that I no longer have. His work is always superb. The road wheels (two tone) for my Exige are particularly good and the bronze wheels (3 tone) he did for my Porsche still look like new 3 years later (and it's my winter daily).

He'll be doing my F12's wheels after it's summer road trip. Personally Iw outdent let anyone else touch my wheels, and I've tried Direct Finish (Merc SUV, re done by Tim 3 months later although to be fair to Direct Finish I asked for them to be re diamond cut after the OEM finish went to pot and frankly diamond cut just doesn't work after the factory cut is gone IMO).

Happy to post pics if required. Each to their own but personally speaking, I cant recommend him enough and I'm a right fussy git with my cars.

It wasn't Jorvik

I think I'm going to use who CJracing recommended - https://pureautodesign.com/refurbishment/

They're fitting "loan wheels" as I can't really afford to be my without my car at the moment, didn't know this would be a "thing"

Will report back

I suspect the bad experience may be the same people who did my diamond cut wheels in February which are already looking worse for wear with worming in the clear coat despite them being coated with Auto Finesse wheel wax from new and never being washed with anything nasty from a scratch & shine type car wash etc. Always washed by me.

Need to get them back and get them to re-do them but think I'll just get them plain powdercoated next time.

Having just had my wheels done at https://pureautodesign.com/ would whole heartedly recommend! The nice chap did recommend plain powder coating as I will be using the car through winter, so probably a wise choice.

I went to Alloy Wheel Refurb in Knaresborough and they did a great job.
