Looked interesting on the TV ads...

When compared to the air racing they have in Reno, Nevada with modified ex WWII fighters (mustangs, sea furies etc) with several thousand horsepower (not 200-300hp stunt aircraft) racing round steel (not inflatable) pylons with photographers standing in 'barrels' on the top of the pylons taking photos as the planes hurtle past, it seemed a little less impressive.

But you're simply not going to see that type of
air-racing in the UK - ever; and you're not going
to get 60,000 brits going to Reno to see it. So
be grateful for what we do get to see. It
was still *very* impressive flying, by any standards.

It was free, the atmosphere was great and it was fantastic to watch the flying at such close proximity..

But there'll always be those that moan for the sake of moaning..

I had a bloody great day, as did everyone I was with..

had it for 16mths, still waiting for the samsung s250....: 5mpxl !!

many people there seem to be there just for the 'big day out' factor - got the impression many didn't apprciate that they had possibly the 8 best stunt/acrobatic pilots in the world pushing it to the limits a couple of 100mtrs in front of them for free! the turns, rotations and loops were so tight - apparently pulling 8-10G ! The promotion was huge - cameras asking people's opinions and if the punters would pay for it next time.... i would... within reason.

F1 for the sky is probably the right description!Yes they were fast moving but that was about it really.Nothing exciting happened and once you had seen a couple you had seen them all!Not moaning....just an opinion.Would I pay to see it? NO...

Define "exciting"?

If you turned up expecting to see people crash
and burn, then I'm very glad you left disappointed.

I enjoyed myself as did the good lady and friends of ours one of whom is a pilot ,

A great day out for free although I suspect next year we will have to pay

Only way I would suggest an improvement is the second time round the course it is done in reverse .
