"They walk amongst us"
Discussion
Sometimes you see some stupidity, and tut, sometimes you do some yourself and hope nobody saw.
But, sometimes you see stuff and wonder how they are allowed out unattended.
My example is seeing a bloke today try to push a shopping trolley up an escalator at Ikea, it made a lot of noise and went nowhere, bloke looked stupid to all around, no sympathy as anyone who thinks that is a valid course of action shouldn't be out on their own. Normally I will not say anything or compound someone's embarrassment (There but for the grace of god go I) but it was so cretinous I used the phrase in the thread title, he heard it and due to the linear nature of Ikea managed to throw me a hate filled glance at every turn.
Your examples ?

I put 40 quid of petrol in my diesel car 2 weeks ago.
Lucky you realised your mistake before putting a lot in!

Both my Dad and Uncle have done that in the past too. I imagine it to be bloody frustrating/annoying for sure.

In their own car
Anywhere, especially in their own car, or anywhere outside.
I saw someone walking their dog through a field margin to some woodland near me the other day which is at least three miles from the nearest village, wearing one of them plastic visors.

Haven’t seen one of those welding visors for a week or two. Good to know someone is keeping up appearances. I hope it had FACE MASK written across the front in case anyone mistook it for something else.I saw someone walking their dog through a field margin to some woodland near me the other day which is at least three miles from the nearest village, wearing one of them plastic visors.
