Hello

I have a 2013 E92 M3.

Alls OK except the lacquer on the wheels is starting to lift.

I have tried a couple of local wheel refinishers , who tell me they cannot be redone as original.
They can be diamond cut , but I don't want that finish.

Anyone got any advise , please ??

Last thing - Can you still buy these wheels from BMW ??
If so , Id imagine they would be ridiculously pricey ....

Thanks

What is the original finish that they can't replicate?

If it's just paint, then get them dipped, stripped & powder-coated in the original colour.

Hello mmm-five

The wheels are polished on the insides and fronts of the spokes , as it where.
The rims on the inside are grey .
See the attached photo

Thanks

Apparently , nobody is willing to re-polish the spokes etc on four wheels as its so time consuming.

Yes, polishing will take a lot of labour compared to paint, powdercoat or diamond-cutting.

Maybe one of the bigger wheel places (Lepsons for example) will do it, but I can see it being very expensive.

The other option would be a chrome (or other shiny metal) powdercoat finish.

Lepsons 'chrome' examples

Lepsons 'standard' finishes

I’d get them powder coated silver too.

This thread might help a little:

I had my E46 19’s ceramic bead polished as that was the closest I could find to the original finish, in fact it is a bang on match. It is not a cheap option but depends how keen you are I guess.

Had mine done by https://www.fawheels.co.uk/ so might be worth giving them a call to discuss

I have the same 220M. Got two of them refurbished and some minor kerbing painted. Despite taking care with regular cleaning the lacquer has some milky blotches around the edge. As said before I would get them painted - a decent wheel refurbishment outfit will do a good match the original.
