Friend of mine has a GTS 4.0

He gets a lot of brake squeal but Porsche dealer says it’s totally normal because “racing brakes”….

I think that’s BS for a road car.

Do any other owners get this problem, is it something that’s acceptable?

Thanks

Carbon Ceramics or steel brakes? Normal on carbons to get some squeal/grind.

Steels. May be glazed discs. When road/traffic conditions allow, from 60MPH do a positive deceleration to 10MPH (you don't need to trigger the ABS, just a fairly aggressive braking), repeat 2 or 3 times in a row.

It used to be in the Manual, may still be?

When he next washes the car, get him to clean out the drill holes on the discs with the jet wash. Build up of brake dust in the holes can cause brake squeal. Same with the calliper

Common on GT4 on steels, we’ll it happens on mine from time to time. Some suggestion it’s the type of pad used and being more a track compound.
