Anybody care to guess what this engraving means?

More for fun than anything,
I picked up this signet ring in a second hand jewellers in York earlier this year.
On the back is an engraving that I can't really make heads nor tails of.
I suspect the only way to know for sure is to ask the person who commissioned it, but thought it might be fun to put it out to the pistonheads sleuths for poops and giggles.
So anyone like to hazard a guess?
