Picked this up on a god walk out in the countryside today.

Central Scotland and so not an area where you would expect to see fossils lying around. It was in an area where there has been an old mine which has now been restored but there is a lot of old crap lying around (concrete, rocks, bits of old buildings etc) so not exactly pristine unmolested land.

It just seems a rather odd thing. It is broadly cylindrical, made of rock (or I suppose possibly cement) and as you can see has a distinctive surface with lots of small circular indentations.

So what is the verdict?

1). Some old industrial crap - concrete that cured in a pipe etc
2). Natural rock
3). Part of a Brontosaur's penis
4). Some other fossil
5). Other - please provide suggestions

Thanks guys, thought as much.

Oh and BTW I was on a dog walk rather than a god walk!

Reminds me of the old joke: Did you hear about the dyslexic agnostic insomniac? He use to lie away at night wondering if there was a dog!

Clearly a fossilised Aero. You can see evidence of the bubbles on the surface and the colour shows that the milk solids have risen to the fore during thawing from the last ice-age.

Dammit! Always get them mixed up. Lepidodendron is the stem, Stigmaria the root.

Is it really hard? If so, it's obviously sourdough bread that's one day past its best before date.

It's a manifestation of evil.
Dont keep it in the house.
I cannot really explain why but an awful feeling comes over me. I just sense it is connected to evil in some way
I believe having it in your home may cause bad and unexplainable things to happen to you.
Keep it outside.

Lay it outside someone's back garden, pointing towards their gate, and then log into the local facebook page...

That doesn’t make sense.
Why would someone who’s agnostic wonder about god?

Because an agnostic is someone who doesn't believe it's possible to know for sure that a god exists, whereas an atheist is sure that god doesn't exist.

I think that belongs to somebody at your local golf club, best hand it in to reception and they will make sure it is returned to it's rightful owner.

I get the Aero likeness, and even sourdough but golf?

Like the white markers on the tees? Possibly....but you would not want to accidentally hit that with your driver!

I thought agnosticism was the belief that god exists, but that gods nature is unknowable. As opposed to gnosticism.
