Android TV, Freeview recoding, voice control

My mother is going blind, macular degeneration. She can just still see enough on a TV to have some sort of life. Her issue is recording and playback on Freeview. We,be got the remotes marked up in luminous colours so she can control volume, press record etc. But playback is not easy, especially series linked recordings when trying to find one programme to playback.

There are Android TV''s with voice control. But can you get them to record and read back what is in the recorded list? Most seem to require a separate recording device, so I don't see that working as the TV is not controlling the recording device.

Yes I am going to look at them, although I expect the average shop worker to be clueless.

Sky Q worked quite well for her, but she lives with my brother who has upgraded to Sky Glass. You can't have Sky Glass and Sky Q at the same address. My mum can't get on with Sky Glass, hence we are now trying Freeview

There is a Freeview channel for the visually impaired which will read the channels and programmes but not recordings.

Its can be done but like you say they need to link together.
