Is it just me or is it starting at £0.99 with no reserve?

Yep, someone has offered 99p and that is the winning bid so far!

Seemed rude not to put a bid in, although an 8000 mile 2.5 litre with the old spec tin top ECU and 5 speed box isn't really worth a great deal.

"NOT WORTH TOO MUCH"!!!!

Really, how much do you think it is worth?

Been after a v6 for my track day car and this fits the bill just dandy.

Is there any common faults or issue's with this models engine that i should look for if i go and view the engine.

Drop me a mail for details. Around £3K would be about right for it IMHO.

Anyone got any idea how much the V6 engine weighs?

165KG sticks in my mind for a dressed three litre, which would equal around 110KG for a bare engine.

How easy would it be to "de-tune" the engine by removing one of the turbo's to relieve some of the stress on the engine and gearbox?

Before you ask why, well if it dropped the bhp to 250 for example that is still plenty in a mid engined kit that weight 680kgs.

You'd be better off asking that question of Noble or Noble motorsport - I believe they did a single turbo version of the 3L in the so far still born convertatble M12 - but it would require a remap of the ECU etc. - anyway what's wrong with 310BHP in a 680KGS

Just reduce the boost. No point in removing a turbo, that'll just give to one stressed turbo not 2 lightly stressed ones.

They aren't exactly stressed anyway. They only go to 0.8 bar boost as standard (or is it 0.9 on the 2.5), and depending on which review you believe, it was full of forged parts.

I'd budget for a new ECU though if its the old 2.5 one as lots seemed to fail over time, although that was with them mounted in a hostile engine bay.

Hi All,

There shouldn't be any need to purchase a new ECU, as Gizard may remeber I didn't get the ECU from him when I purchased the engine. I brought the ECU with the correct map for the engine, new from Noble.

Yep 0.7 bar mechanical on the standar 2.5 litre. 0.9bar (peak) on the factory electronic upgrade.

Also the ECU pictured on e-bay appears to be the early metal topped MBE unit, the later green dot all plastic ECU was a fair bit tougher.
