Car tax reminder letter

Car tax (or whatever it’s called) expires tomorrow.

I know I can tax my car without it.

But it’s the first time in god knows how many years I’ve not received a letter.

Has anyone else not had a letter for their most recent renewal? Or just me?

Just go online, no need for any letters. I never get reminders anyway, since I use direct debits.

My reminder letter arrived about a week ago. Renewed the tax on Friday

Reminders usually come 2 weeks early. August holiday slowdown maybe?

I presume the OP has the V5c for the car. DVLA will send the letter to the registered keeper (not necessarily the legal owner).

Interesting, thanks. The only thing that’s unusual is I put a private plate on my car in the last 12 months. So perhaps that’s something to do with it (albeit unlikely).

I have the up to date V5C so I can tax it fine… just thought it strange that I never received a letter for the first time in years.

I always receive reminders for my three cars, including the one that has zero VED due because of its historic status.
