Cabin air

I notice the pipe that supplies air to the cabin is behind the plenum, at the back of the engine bay.

So, in a perfect position really to have all the warm air from the engine/exhausts conducted through its plastic skin, and into your face!

Is there any worth in lagging it, and what would be a good material to use? I'm only asking as the plenum will be off soonish to fit a new stepper motor housing, so is it worth doing?

Sounds like a good idea, I dont recall ever being able to get even remotely cool air below 70mph.

Let me know how you get on and if it works I'll do it my self.

Only owned the ar since April - I now know why the temperature is either roasting hot or mild hot.

Any solution to this would be great!

I'm going to see if its easy to do. I'll have a sniff in B&Q to see if they have anything I can use thats heat-resistant.

I noticed at Donington a couple of weeks ago that several of the racers in the TVRCC series have air inlet pipes etc wrapped in what looks like 2" wide hessian sacking strip. Not quite sure what it is, (perhaps 2" wide hessian sacking strip !!) but that might also be an option.

Tim at ACT does Heat shieldong for the induction pipework that will probably do the trick and its not expensive.
