Has anyone else found that RTTI on its own has been discontinued as is, and now bundled into a bigger (guess what, more expensive!) bundle? I assume there is no way around this that anyone has found?

Mine expires today and I've been online to renew, but I can't do it without buying a Connected Package. While it's only £20 more expensive (old standalone RTTI £49 vs Connected Package £69) I'm being forced to now buy things I don't want.

Now, I understand in the money-grabbing new world of BMW where even heated seats are a subsciption, that this is fairly standard procedure. But what is ridiculous is that the 'extras' in this bundle over what I had before cannot even be provided in my car (2013 640d). I am being forced to buy things that I cannot even have! Is that even legal...?

I've called them and 'yes, this is a new corporate policy'. Complaint logged (apparently I am most certainly not the first!), but nothing they can do about it.

It's not the £20, it's the principle.

Yeah I spotted this, I'm holding off renewing until November as they always drop their prices for Black Friday. For me it helps that in all honesty I don't use the car much at all so it's not a big deal runnign without it.

Yes they did it earlier this year when when BMW tried to take the map updates out of the package I had already paid for.
TBH I probably won't bother renewing it as even the latest maps seem very out of date.

I'm sure when I renewed it last year it was the same (but I could be wrong). It is frustrating though but as I use it almost daily I guess i'll be paying for it again this year. I do find it works very well as a rule

Yes, me too - it was the same as always last year. It must have changed in the last few months.

Like you, I use it a lot and find it pretty good. And so will innevitably end up renewing it. Just don't like the thought of being conned, which is what it feels like.

I thought it had changed in April last year.

I waited until the November deal.

Just thank your lucky stars that you can actualy renew your rtti , if you were in USA or Canada the 3g network has gone so no matter how much you complain it will never work again . This could well be our fait in Europe and no one has created a 4g or 5g add on box to make the USA cars work again .
