Shaving My Balls.....

Now I've recently taken up tennis.

I have found that after about 3 or 4 hours playing; the tennis balls I have been using start to fray.
I've been using Dunlop Championship All Court balls.

Rather than cover the court in bits of yellow fluff or replacing perfectly decent tennis balls I was wondering if it is possible to shave off the fray ?

Or would this cause them behave stangely when they make contact with the ground ?

Or lose their true bounce ?
