Thought I'd start a thread for this, the release has been delayed, was originally 31st Aug but now put back to 21st Sept with an initial release of 3 episodes [apparently].

Anyway, second trailer was released yesterday;

I think it looks really good, though sadly the same can be said of the trailers for Boba Fett and Obi-Wan, I enjoyed them both, but they weren't anywhere near as good as Mandalorian.

For those completely in the dark the series is based on the one of the main characters of the film Rogue One (arguably the best Star Wars film released in the Disney era), Cassian Andor is an intelligence officer/spy/special ops type soldier for the Rebellion he has famously been in the fight since he "was 6 years old".

I like the look of it and have high hopes, so will see.

If the thread gains any legs please can we spoiler tag things as we post, as I know many people don't get round to watching these things immediately.

It's rubbish, the story is crap and the effects are crap too, I expected more but it's awful.

Oh wait it's not out yet, sorry as you were.

It looks a bit more grown up, so hopefully a better script than Obi.

After attempting the last two Star Wars series I can’t even summon up the effort to watch the trailer.

Its using proper sets & locations instead of 'The Volume'

The Volume is ok in some situations, but both Vader fights in Obi Wan looked bland and clearly on a set.

Rogue One is possibly better than the originals. Certainly the best beyond the original trilogy.

They’ll have a lot of room to play with in this, so hopefully they don’t fk it up…

I really hope Disney can hold this one to the plot first and foremost and the star wars aspect second. I think this is where the Mandalorian really succeed whereas Book of Boba Fett & Obi Wan struggled somewhat. It should be pretty much free reign to tell an interesting story with links to the wider Star Wars Universe.

Fest?

On the show, this does look good and agree that the more removed from the Skywalker family the better the series are.

I'll be watching and hope it's more Mando than Kenobi

I've got real hope for this one, something I didn't feel for Obi Wan or Boba Fett (not even watched Fett yet, few mates said it was very poor so not got to it yet, seen clips and it does look quite shabby).

The Mandalorian setting the bar of the series so far, Rogue One setting the bar for the Films outside the first Trilogy IMO

Trailer felt like an origin story of both Andor and the Rebellion and some background.
Not something there has been much exploration of (in the movies) in the past. I'm hopeful.
I think Mando worked so well because it wasn't tied to the main story arcs/Skywalkers. Boba Fett was a bit childish, trying to flesh out a character who's whole original thing was mystery. Same issue for me as Solo, we didn't need a fil in the gaps backstory (also looking at you midichlorians)
Kenobi didn't work because main protagonist was rubbish and they messed about with known characters too much.

I loved Rogue 1 so I'll definitely be giving this a go.

Hope we get to see snarky K2SO at some point & would it be too much to ask for Donnie Yen?

I doubt will get Donnie Yen's character, as he only met Andor in Rogue One, but I do hope to see K2SO, one of the best characters in Star Wars IMO.

When you look at the trailer there are quite a few big names in this, Stellan Skarsgaard, the guy that played the priest type bloke in Game of Thrones and I think the lady that played Mon Mothma in Rogue One? And of course Forest Whittaker returning as Saw Gurerra (though interestingly he isn't listed on IMDB).

As a geek I watched a breakdown of the trailer last night and it speculated that a factory making droids is shown so that could be how Andor meets K-2SO.
