Great post and nope I don't know laugh

Initial thoughts were Allard, Fiat, Simca or Renault.

Pity we can't see the full reg..

My immediate thought was a coachbuilt Jowett Jupiter and i found one very similar in appearance, but not our puzzle. Also a Dyna Veritas, but again no. It's definitely not a production car body, so a one-off or rebody.

Do you know the people in the photo?

PS just noticed the wiper blades - it's LHD.

I was thinking Allard M2 or similar - but it looks a bit on the small side so I'd agree, quite possibly French.

Brighton-area reg. if that helps.

Its got a very 50s look - bit of Tatra 600.

Has elements of familiar cars but difficult to pin down. I wonder if the grille is original?

Strange proportions -is It a 2 door pillar less coupé? Where the RH person is sitting seems to be on a decline in the bodywork.
I also thought Allard but no idea.

From the A pillar back it reminds me of an XK140 - and the windscreen is very similar to the Jag's.

I can't imagine too many people were cutting up XK 140's in the mid- 50's - but Raymond Loewy was doing so across the Pond..

This is the Jupiter I was thinking of, although it's not the answer.

I tried FPN39, and then FPN390 - 399, but they all come up "vehicle not found".

FPN 300 is an Allard but that doesn't really help us a lot.

I'm more familiar with the FPNs that you find stuck under windscreen wipers….

The more i look at the picture, the more i’m convinced I’ve seen this in some period tv show/film.

I think you were correct about the car being a modified Jupiter. Loo at how the bonnet meets the A pillar and the roofline.

Looks like a not quite a copy of something and/or something heavily modified with bits of other cars

Flanks have hints of a Jag but the front end and proportions look like a Poundland version of a Ferrari Inter Coupe of the era

I will have to think further but a great find

I thought it had an Auto Union/ DKW look about it but could find anything convincing.

The flat sides and straight wingline look very c.1950 Stabilimenti Farina. Probably a "good effort" copy.

Just a guess but it could be an early Jensen and those two fellers could be the Jensen bros?
