Wide Fitting Shoes

Wider-fit shoes. I find that my flat feet can no longer force themselves into a normal shoe; a wider fit is needed. Anyone else with the affliction? Mine is inherited. Dad had flat feet; his dad had them and my youngest son also has them.

Trying to find a seller that stocks wide fitting shoes isn't yielding much by way of variety. I find Asics trainers are a good fit, but proper shoes (formal and casual) are proving to be a problem.

Recommendations gratefully received.

I have a pair of Barkers and these give me a nice fit, comfortable and snug, I usually wear thicker socks with them I remember the girl in the shop did not think they would accommodate my wide feet. A good looking boot as well.

I developed the same issue, went up a size too.

Skechers are good for casual shoes I find.

Try Trickers, not cheap but hand-made and they will make them to fit. If you choose a shoe made on the 4444 last theyre a wide fit, once again not cheap but will last you a life time. I have many pairs from Trickers and will vouch for them every day.

Extra wide H suits me, there are also width sizes a bit less or a bit wider.

I discovered them this year, the most comfortable shoes I've had for a long time - particularly as I'm a half size in length too so the Euro 45 fits me well rather than a plain UK 10.

I've got very wide feet as well and buying any form of footwear has been a complete PITA.

What is frustrating is that you sometimes find wider fitting styles from different high street brands/retailers you try on, but 18 months later the style changes or they no longer make that model and you are back to square one.

At the cheaper end, M&S black dress shoes I find wider fitting although haven't bought any for a while since WFH
Clarks often used to have wider fits in some styles for casual shoes/trainer types, but this seemed to have changed last time I was in a few years ago.

I did splash out on wide fitting motorcycle boots from Altberg in Yorkshire, and hope to get down there sometime to get fitted for walking boots.

Barker suit my wide feet as well. they have a few different lasts so best to try them on. I like these:

Similar here. Although I tend to wear the 4E Brooks - running shoes are the wide fit Brooks Adrenaline GTS

I don't have particularly wide feet but they're the only place I've found where it's pretty easy to find stock in a size 13

My father in law has wide feet and he gets all his shoes there too, IIRC they actually have a couple of options for wider fit

My old man uses Trickers, they're lovely but for my nice shoes I get sized to fit ones from Crockett & Jones. Although I sometimes have to wait a while for a batch to be made and they aren't as customisable they're very comfy and half the price.
